Autumn is a season you feel before you even see it. It’s in the crisp morning air, in the scent of a freshly baked cake, in the softness of a fabric that warms the skin. It’s the time of year that invites us to slow down, to savour, and to choose with care - both in the kitchen and in the wardrobe.

There are textures that speak to taste, as if they were ingredients in a recipe. Velvet has the same enveloping sweetness as a cup of hot chocolate; woven wool recalls the golden crust of bread; and glossy silk brings to mind the perfect glaze of a homemade cake. Fashion and cooking, after all, share the same passion for material and for the sensations they evoke: one is worn, the other is tasted - but both tell the story of wrapping and being wrapped.

Choosing what to wear or how to set the table are small acts of care. A rust-coloured tablecloth echoes the warmth of a wool coat, while a pumpkin and rosemary tart smells like an autumn afternoon spent with family. The table, just like the wardrobe, follows the rhythm of the seasons and reflects the way we embrace them - simply, yet with attention to detail.

And then there are the colours of the season - copper, mustard, burgundy, orange, and sage green - that bring us back to nature and its most comforting hues. They’re the shades we find in spiced desserts, in soft leavened doughs, in aromas that fill the home with warmth. With doughs made using Ar.pa’s yeast (and our new 200 g Spinach Powder pack) and rich, flavourful fillings, the kitchen too dresses for autumn - with harmonies that delight both the eyes and the palate.

And so, between an outfit and a recipe, we discover that cooking and dressing truly have much in common. Both speak of identity, of taste, of a personal way of living the season - because autumn doesn’t just enter our closets or our plates, it teaches us the art of choosing what warms us: in flavour and in feeling.

Let’s take inspiration, then: a cake fresh from the oven, a table that smells of the forest, a fabric that feels like home - autumn is worn, savoured, lived, and like everything made with love and good ingredients, it always tells something about us.
